About Me
Robert Aston Jones was born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1950 and grew up in the Avondale/Crestwood/Woodlawn area. He attended Woodlawn High School through his Junior year, and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery, Alabama. He attended Troy State University (now Troy University) and graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. in Biology (Fisheries Management). Following graduation from Auburn, Robert worked 38 years as an aquatic biologist with Alabama Power Company. He continued his education while working, earning an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Robert and his wife Linda (1950-2019), a former high school teacher/administrator, met while students at Auburn University and enjoyed a marriage of 46 years and 8 months. Robert has two children: Lee (Elizabeth, granddaughter Althea); and Andy (Mia, grandson Malcolm, and granddaughter Louisa). Lee, a Web Developer, currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee, and Andy, a Digital Asset Specialist, lives in Wheaton (a suburb of Chicago), Illinois. Robert recently moved from a house in Helena (a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama) to a house in Nashville, Tennessee to get closer to members of his immediate family.
Robert has been writing "as a hobby" for over 33 years and published his first Novel, Anchor, in 2019. If all goes well, he'll publish a second novel within a few weeks…or months…or years. “Stuff” (a.k.a. Life) keeps setting him back.
